In addition, they conduct reviews of new commercial and residential subdivision plans for compliance with the City of Mobile Subdivision Ordinance. They are responsible for issuing land disturbance permits through the Urban Development Central Permitting Office, ensuring completed work conforms with the approved site plans, answering inquiries relating to flood plain management and Federal Emergency Management Agency guidelines.
