Description of Department/Section/Unit’s Responsibilities in the construction process in the City Of Mobile:

The Electrical Unit is responsible for enforcing the National Electrical Code and the City of Mobile Electrical Ordinance. The safety of our citizens and visitors is our primary goal. We strive to achieve this through the review of construction plans, site inspections, and the enforcement of adopted codes. We regulate the electrical contractor’s test and certifications to maintain the highest possible standards for the electrical professionals and our citizens. It is our goal to ensure that the citizens of Mobile have the safest electrical systems and the highest quality construction and service they expect.
