The Mobile Tree Commission was established by State Act 61-929 adopted in 1961, and amended in 1981. This act assigned The Mobile Tree Commission with the responsibility of overseeing the protection of trees located in the city rights-of-ways. The trimming and/or removal of any tree located within a City right-of-way must first be considered by The Commission at a public hearing. The Commission also promotes the planting of trees, both in the right-of-way and on private properties, and tree health through various programs.
The Planning Staff processes applications and prepares staff reports and recommendations for the Tree Commission on requests to trim or remove trees in the right-of-way.View Tree Commission Meetings, Minutes, and Agendas
