At its meeting of May 18, 2017, the Mobile City Planning Commission adopted amendments to the Map for Mobile consisting of the Future Land Use Plan and Map and the Major Street Plan and Map. These documents replace the former General Land Use Plan and Map and Major Street Plan and Map, which were adopted 50 years ago.
The Commission also adopted a Correspondence Matrix that relates the Future Land Use Categories to existing Zoning Districts as extablished in the current Zoning Ordinance. The Matrix is to serve as an informational guide in the interim between Plan adoption and adoption of the forthcoming revisions/rewrite of the Zoning Ordinance.
None of these documents rezone any properties or preclude properties from being developed as they are currently zoned and in compliance with the current Zoning Ordinance.
