Central Permitting is also responsible for compiling information for the issuance of Certificates of Occupancy for new commercial construction, issuance of trade competency cards for electricians and plumbers. Central Permitting also maintains contractors’ bonds on file with City of Mobile. They are also responsible for verifying contractors’ local and state licensing requirements and maintaining a database of all permits issued in flood zones within the City. (back to top) West Mobile Office General Information The Urban Development West Mobile Office offers limited services to the citizens in the western sector of the city. Some of these services rendered are residential construction permits, Right of Way permits, and banner permits.
