James “Mike” Black, Chief Electrical Inspector Mr. Black is a former electrical contractor and master electrician with 25 years of electrical experience. He has been employed with the City of Mobile’s Urban Development Department since 1990. He currently manages the daily operations of the Urban Development West Mobile satellite office, supervises the Electrical Inspectors for the City of Mobile, and is co-chairman of the Technical Review Committee (TRC). He is the Head Proctor for the City of Mobile Electrical Exam, a member of the National Fire Protection Association, and the International Association of Electrical Inspectors.
