Laura J. Clarke Director of Urban Development Department Ms. Clarke has 22-1/2 years service with the City of Mobile. She has a Bachelor of Science in Geography from the University of South Alabama, and a Master of Science in Urban Planning from the University of Tennessee. She has served as Director of Urban Development since May of 1998. Ms. Clarke served at the level of Deputy Director of Land Use Administration for 4 years prior to accepting her current position of Director. She serves as an active member of the following organizations: American Planning Association, International Society of Arboriculturalists, National Arbor Foundation, Grassroots, Inc., Mobile Tree Commission, and the Mobile Historical Development Commission. Ms. Clarke has also earned the honor of membership in the American Institute of Certified Planners.
